Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tsp dried Italian herbs
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 6–8 large tortillas (flour or whole wheat)
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend)
- Optional toppings: chopped tomatoes, shredded lettuce, sour cream, guacamole
Instructions
1. Cut chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and pat dry with paper towels.
2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
3. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
4. Add chicken to the skillet and cook for 5–7 minutes until browned and cooked through (internal temp should reach 165°F/74°C).
5. Pour in chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the skillet.
6. Reduce heat to medium-low and stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes (if using), and Italian herbs.
7. Season with salt and pepper to taste and let the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
8. Warm tortillas according to package instructions or in a skillet or microwave.
9. Lay a tortilla flat, spoon cheesy garlic chicken mixture onto the center.
10. Sprinkle with shredded cheese and add any optional toppings.
11. Fold in the sides and roll up the tortilla tightly into a wrap.
12. Cut in half if desired and serve immediately.
Notes
To prevent soggy wraps, avoid overfilling and make sure the chicken mixture isn’t too wet.
Lightly toasting the tortillas before assembling adds texture and durability.
The cheesy garlic chicken filling can be made up to 2 days ahead and reheated before assembling.
Try using different cheeses like mozzarella, provolone, or pepper jack for a flavor twist.
For extra spice, add cayenne pepper or chopped jalapeños.
