Description
Indulge in this Irish Coffee Pie, a delightful no-bake dessert that combines rich coffee and smooth whiskey in a fluffy filling atop a crunchy graham cracker crust.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Half and Half (can be swapped with heavy cream)
- 2 tablespoons Instant Espresso Powder (consider using dark roast coffee for a stronger kick)
- 10 large Marshmallows (mini marshmallows melt more quickly)
- 1/2 cup Whiskey (Irish cream liqueur is a delightful alternative)
- 2 cups Whipped Topping (homemade whipped cream enhances freshness)
- 1 pre-made Graham Cracker Crust (an Oreo crust can add a fun chocolatey flavor twist)
- 1 cup Whipped Cream (optional garnish)
- 1 tablespoon Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (optional for visual appeal)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Ice Bath: Start by filling a large shallow bowl with cold water and ice.
2. In a small bowl, combine the half and half with the instant espresso powder. Whisk until fully dissolved.
3. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine marshmallows and the half and half mixture. Stir for about 10 minutes until melted.
4. Place saucepan in ice bath and stir until cool, about 10-15 minutes.
5. Stir the whiskey into the cooled mixture until well blended.
6. Gently fold in the whipped topping until just combined.
7. Pour the filling into the graham cracker crust, smooth out, cover, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
8. Before serving, add whipped cream and cocoa powder.
Notes
For an even more decadent experience, drizzle with chocolate syrup before serving.
You can substitute heavy cream for half and half for a richer texture.
An Oreo crust adds a chocolate twist, while Irish cream liqueur can replace whiskey for a sweeter flavor.
