Description
A warm, creamy goat cheese appetizer topped with sweet fig jam, a drizzle of balsamic vinegar, and crunchy toasted pecans. It’s elegant, quick to make, and perfect for entertaining.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces goat cheese (softened to room temperature)
- 4 ounces cream cheese (softened to room temperature)
- 1/2 cup fig jam
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1/3 cup chopped pecans (or walnuts, almonds, or pistachios)
- 2 tbsp chopped thyme and rosemary
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
2. In a mixing bowl, stir together goat cheese and cream cheese until fully combined.
3. Spread the cheese mixture evenly in the bottom of an oven-safe baking dish.
4. Spoon the fig jam over the cheese mixture, spreading it evenly.
5. Drizzle the balsamic vinegar over the top of the fig jam.
6. Bake for 10–15 minutes, until the jam is bubbling and hot.
7. While baking, toast the chopped pecans in a dry pan until aromatic.
8. Remove the dish from the oven and sprinkle with fresh chopped herbs and toasted pecans.
9. Allow the spread to cool slightly before serving.
10. Serve with crostini, crackers, or fresh vegetables.
Notes
This appetizer can be made ahead and reheated just before serving.
Feel free to substitute with your favorite nut or herb based on preference or availability.
For a sweeter finish, add a drizzle of honey or maple syrup before serving.
