Description
Easy taco casserole is beef, cheese, and tortilla chips layered up and loaded with rich flavor throughout. It is an easy-to-make, crowd-pleasing dinner that will be a hit with everyone!
Ingredients
- 1 pound hamburger meat
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 1 can tomato soup
- 1 can water
- 1 package taco seasoning
- 1 package tortilla chips
- 2 cups grated Mexican cheese
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Brown the ground beef with the onion in a skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the tomato soup, taco seasoning, and one can of water. Stir to combine and heat through.
4. Break up the tortilla chips.
5. In a 9×13-inch baking dish, layer tortilla chips, beef mixture, and cheese.
6. Repeat the layers, ending with a layer of cheese on top.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.
8. Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
9. Serve with your favorite toppings like sour cream, lettuce, green onions, or black olives.
Notes
Feel free to add canned black beans or corn to the meat mixture for added flavor and texture.
Use spicy taco seasoning or pepper jack cheese if you prefer extra heat.
