Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup beef broth or water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ¼ cup milk (optional, for creaminess)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Brown the ground beef for about 5–7 minutes; drain excess fat.
3. Add onions and garlic to the skillet and sauté until soft (3–4 minutes).
4. Layer cooked beef in the prepared dish, followed by thinly sliced potatoes seasoned with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
5. Sprinkle cheeses on top and pour broth around edges. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
6. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until potatoes are tender.
Notes
Add a splash of milk for extra creaminess if desired.
Try swapping in ground turkey or chicken for a leaner variation.
You can add sliced bell peppers, mushrooms, or spinach for more veggies.
Leftovers reheat well and make a great next-day lunch.
