Description
Crockpot Angel Chicken is the creamy, slow-cooked miracle your chaotic weeknights didn’t know they needed. It takes five minutes to throw together, tastes like Sunday supper, and fools everyone into thinking you have access to a personal chef.
Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds chicken breast, boneless and skinless
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped or left whole
- 10.5 ounces cream of chicken soup
- 3/4 cup chicken stock
- 4 ounces cream cheese
- 1/4 cup butter
- 0.6 ounces Italian dressing mix (dry powdered mix, such as Good Seasons)
- 1 pound angel hair pasta
Instructions
1. Spray the inside of the crockpot with nonstick cooking spray.
2. Add the chicken breast.
3. Add the garlic.
4. Soften the butter and cream cheese in the microwave.
5. Whisk until smooth.
6. Whisk in the cream of chicken soup (do not dilute).
7. Add the Italian dressing mix and the chicken stock.
8. Whisk until well mixed.
9. Pour over the chicken breasts.
10. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.
11. OPTIONAL: 30 minutes before the cooking time is finished, shred the chicken breasts with two forks and continue to cook in the sauce.
12. Just before chicken is done, cook the angel hair pasta. Drain.
13. Serve the chicken over the pasta.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. This recipe doesn’t freeze well.
Be sure to spray the crockpot well with nonstick cooking spray for easy clean-up or use a slow cooker liner.
Use the dry powdered Italian salad dressing mix — do not use prepared salad dressing or mix it with water as instructed on the packet.
