Description
Make delicious crispy baked ranch chicken wings at home. This recipe skips deep-frying for a healthier option, while still giving you perfectly crispy skin with the popular flavor of ranch seasoning.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken wings, separated into drumettes and flats
- 1 tablespoon baking powder (aluminum-free)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons ranch seasoning mix
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and place an oven-safe wire rack on top.
2. Pat the chicken wings very dry with paper towels. This is a crucial step for crispy skin.
3. In a large bowl, toss the dried chicken wings with baking powder, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
4. Drizzle olive oil over the wings and toss again to lightly coat them.
5. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the wire rack, leaving space between each piece.
6. Bake for 45–50 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
7. Increase oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) during the last 10 minutes for extra crispiness.
8. Remove wings from the oven and toss in a clean bowl with ranch seasoning mix until fully coated.
9. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
Ensure your baking powder is aluminum-free to avoid a metallic taste.
Do not overcrowd the baking sheet; use two sheets if needed for better airflow.
For extra ranch flavor, marinate the wings in ranch dressing for a few hours before baking.
