Ingredients
- 8 oz penne pasta
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound chicken breast, diced
- 1 cup smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup pepper jack cheese, shredded
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes.
3. Add the sliced sausage, onion, and garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3–4 minutes.
4. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in the pepper jack cheese until melted and smooth.
5. Add the smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to taste. Mix well.
6. Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce, stirring until evenly coated.
7. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
Notes
For a spicier kick, you can add diced jalapeños to the dish.
Feel free to substitute the penne pasta with any pasta shape of your choice.
This dish can be made ahead of time and reheated. If the sauce thickens, add a splash of cream to loosen it.
