Description

This Texas Roadhouse Butter Chicken Skillet is a mild, buttery chicken dish made in one pan with simple ingredients and big flavor. Juicy, golden-seared chicken is smothered in a rich, savory sauce perfect for a comforting family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ cup chicken broth
  • ½ teaspoon lemon juice (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. Pat chicken dry and season both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

2. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

3. Sear chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until golden and fully cooked (internal temp 165°F/74°C). Remove from pan.

4. Reduce heat to medium, add remaining butter and chicken broth to the skillet, scraping the browned bits to deglaze. Let simmer 2–3 minutes. Add lemon juice if desired.

5. Return chicken to skillet and spoon sauce over the top. Cook 2 minutes more.

6. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

– Use thighs for a juicier result.

– Don’t overcrowd the skillet—work in batches if needed.

– Great served with mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted veggies.

– Double sauce ingredients for extra buttery goodness.

– Store leftovers up to 3 days; reheat gently with broth to maintain moisture.
