Description
A quick and comforting dinner made with just four main ingredients—this cheesy hamburger casserole is perfect for busy weeknights!
Ingredients
- 1 lb pasta shells
- 3 cups shredded cheddar & mozzarella cheese (divided)
- 2 cups canned tomato soup
- 1 lb ground beef
- To taste garlic, salt & pepper
Instructions
1. Cook pasta shells in salted boiling water until al dente according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown ground beef for 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease.
3. Season beef with garlic, salt, and pepper. Stir well to distribute flavors evenly.
4. In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta, browned beef, tomato soup, and half of the cheese. Stir until everything is well coated.
5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish. Pour pasta mixture into dish and spread evenly.
6. Top with remaining cheese, covering the entire surface evenly for a beautiful melted finish.
7. Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes until cheese is melted and slightly golden. For extra crispiness, broil for 2-3 minutes at the end.
8. Let rest 5 minutes before serving. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
This recipe works great with any short pasta such as elbow macaroni or penne.
Use a mix of sharp cheddar and mozzarella for the best melty and flavorful topping.
Add sautéed onions or bell peppers for extra texture and flavor.
